DAY 5: RAHAAO

"Pause and Reflect"

Quarantine has added an uncertain 'comma' to the lives of people. It is a time to sit and just 'be'. To pause, to reflect, to heal...

Rahao is a popular word in Sikhism and its Bani. Infact, it is my favourite thing about the script in Sikh prayers. (rah-ha-oh). The word is prevelant throughout the Granth Sahib. It asks the reader to pause and reflect upon a particular set of lines. To be mindful of the words written. To read again and again...to churn...to mull over...to question...and to form their own ideology. What a lovely thing it asks of you! Stillness. Just be. You and your thoughts brewing together like a gorgeous cup of coffee.

It's the right time to apply what we've heard and read all through our lives. Sit back and give yourself the gift of hindsight. God knows, we need it. What could I have done better? How can I do better in the future? What did I learn from all this?

"Sit back and give yourself the gift of hindsight. God knows, we need it."

There is lots to mull over. Considering our relentless pace through life, we must take this opportunity to rethink our actions as a race on this planet. Are we really doing the best we can? Are we contributing to this world as much as we are taking away from it? Are we 'conscious' human beings or just some creatures in this world?
